Here's how you can get involved with NEURISA:
We currently have several committees that are looking for more members. Committee members should share an enthusiasm and desire to get involved with the geospatial community. Committees will meet via conference calling at agreed-upon times, likely once a month. Additional time commitment may be needed to address action items discussed on calls. The following committees are active and looking for new members:
Sponsorship Committee - The sponsorship committee seeks to find sponsors for our organization and its events.
Professional Development Committee - The professional development committee seeks to plan events such as “Mappy Hours” and other networking events.
Communications Committee - The communications committee seeks to help the Communications Coordinator in writing the monthly newsletter and with the outreach of our organization.
We’ll be organizing new committees soon, including a Core Documents Committee and the NEURISA Day Planning Committee. If you have an idea for a committee that could help NEURISA towards its goals, let us know! To get involved, contact us at neurisa@gmail.com.
Board of Directors meetings are held at 10:30am on the second Thursday of every month via conference call. All meetings are open to the NEURISA Community at large, however only the board may vote on an item. We have a special members meeting in the Fall as well!
Our next meeting will be held on Thursday, Feburary 13 at 10:30am via conference call. The agenda will be posted here when available.
Executive board members each serve a two-year term. Elections are held near the end of the calendar year after the NEURISA Day Conference. If you are interested in running, let us know then!
Our favorite event is a "Mappy Hour": usually a couple hours at a local pub, but not necessarily; they can be held at libraries or bowling alleys as well. More information on how to host a Mappy Hour can be found here.
